Vista Ultimate Upgrade Experience

I guess Microsoft wants users to be so eager to use Vista that they expect you to break open the packaging. I tried to figure out the proper way to open it but after 10 minutes I said fuck it and broke it.
During install it tells you the process may take several hours. I dunno about a fresh install but my upgrade took 12 hours and only maybe half of that was due to lock ups. I did the upgrade Saturday. Matt said at one point in the upgrade, while I was sleeping, my security suite said I had a trojan. Must have been something in Vista that set it off.
Sunday night I turned on my laptop again and it went through Stage 3 of 3 again. When it finally booted I decided to check out the Media Center to see what it was about. Well that locked up and I had to hard reboot. I’m afraid to try it again. Then after the recommended updates finished there were only 47 more optional updates. I skipped those since I wanted to actually USE the laptop this weekend.
Monday night: On startup the laptop went through Setting up personalized settings…again.
Firefox three is loading faster at least. That’s a positive right??? If something else in the way of improvements manifests I’ll be sure to post about it.
I expected to be dazzled, awestruck and apologetic for all the negative things I’ve said about Vista. Two days later I am none of the above and I stand by my earlier opinion of Vista.
