So its been a year (yesterday) since Matt and I split up and he moved out for a couple of months. Where are we now? Better than we have ever been before I think. We have had a wonderful year bonding and just being together having fun. Being furloughed actually was a blessing in disguise as we have been able to spend so much more time together. We have been able to travel and spend time with our families and even fall in love all over again.

Matt has worked so hard to make our relationship succeed, never once letting us backstep. He’s so attentive to our relationship now and more loving and caring than ever. He is much more open now as well. He is such a wonderful man with such a deep, strong love and affection. He makes me feel so loved, so cherished and special. We stopped going to counseling in May when he was furloughed but we both learned a lot in the 6 or 7 months we were going and we have put that to good use in our relationship. So while the previous year was absolutely horrible and devastating, this year has been amazing. We went through hell together but came out stronger than ever. I’m positive there is some cliche’ about the strength of being forged in fire that applies here but I can’t remember it. :)
