Fountain of Youth

Two weeks ago I received a sample of Dermalastyl, a new product in the war against wrinkles and aging. I don’t really have a problem with wrinkles but after turning 30 I have been more aware of the need to take better care of my skin. So I was very curious about trying Dermalastyl. I rarely wear more than eye make up but that’s not enough to keep my skin looking young, firm and wrinkle free. Once we hit puberty we ALL begin to lose elastin in our skin. Elastin is what keeps our skin firm and looking young. No other product on the market can reverse this process. So are wrinkles just inevitable? Not according to the maker of Dermalastyl.
Dermalastyl contains 100 times as many amino acids as any other anti aging product on the market. Amino acids are the key component to stimulating collagen production. More importantly, ONLY Dermalastyl contains human Tropoelastin.
Tropoelastin was originally used on the battlefield to heal wounds faster. Now it is being used to fight off wrinkles and revive your skin.
Now only available through on the web, Dermalastyl is the result of extensive research on scarless healing and tissue regeneration by Dr Burt Ensley. Dr Ensley guarantees results in 30 days. I’ve only had the cream for a couple weeks so I am curious about the small wrinkles between my eyebrows and around my mouth. It is easy to apply and light weight. I have sensitive skin but there has been no irritation at all.

Protect Your Thumb Drive from Viruses

Recently someone asked me: How can I clean a virus from my thumb drive and how can I protect it in the future?
You don’t need any special tools to do either of these things. You need a good antivirus program, some virus/spyware removal tools, a little time, patience and common sense.
If you have a good antivirus software on your computer and it is up to date, it will detect viruses and spyware on your thumb drive when you plug it in. If nothing is detected but you are still suspicious, manually run a scan on that drive just as you would on your C drive.
Three good applications for detecting, preventing and removing viruses, spyware and trojans are: Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad Aware and Malware Bytes. All are free or have free versions. Download, install and then one by one use them to scan your system and include your thumb drive. Alternately you can scan just the thumb drive. This may take some time depending on how much data you have. Spybot Search and Destroy will run in the background and constantly monitor your system if you configure it to do so on install. It will give you a pop up to confirm or deny changes to your system registry and files. Set it to ‘remember’ your answer for common applications.
Now some common sense advice!
Be careful where you download FROM. Not only from porn sites, warez, torrent and crack sites but free games or screensavers are often the culprit, this is typically what I see in households with children. They download free stuff not knowing they are infecting the computer. One easy way to prevent this is to create a restricted user account on your computer. Restricted accounts will not have permission to install software. Instruct your kids to log on with this account and password protect your administrator or power user account!
Be careful where you stick it! Your thumb drive that is. Be selective about putting your thumb drive in other people’s computers. Much like an STD you never know when you will pick up a nasty virus.
If you have a usb external hard drive that you often use to clean systems or share from, you can write protect the drive. I’m not sure if this will work with thumb drives.
Beware of buying thumb drives on eBay! Thumb drives coming out of China are NOTORIOUS for being loaded with viruses and/or spyware.
While this question was specifically about thumb drives, it is also applicable for external USB hard drives.
Propanganda email forwards and chains
By Dae on Nov 8, 2008 | In General | Send feedback »
I often get forwarded emails from people near and dear to me and many times the emails are very pro-christian and pro-republican. I’m sure you know what I mean. Like the “Obama is a muslim” email that was being forwarded around.
Anyway I try not to get insulted that everyone assumes I have the same views on religion and politics as they do but the emails piss me off because it’s obviously just a load of propaganda and zero truth. I just delete the emails though instead of explaining why I don’t want to receive these types of emails. I don’t recall ever receiving a pro Democrat email, they are always from conservatives who are attacking someone who doesn’t share their views. Now bear in mind that I have always been primarily Republican oriented. I just try not to drink the Kool Aid. Recently I received another email that was forwarded out to a group. I want to share a reply that was sent in response to that mail. I edited out the names and personal references. This is a message I can stand behind.
It appears that many of you have once again taken the bait.
I’m sad to see so many people still so easily misled based solely on fear mongering, inculcation of misinformation, and hostile, party chauvinism. Too often I find people, even family, champing at the bit to buy into a message of “divide and conquer". There is a big problem with that: there’s nothing to conquer. There will always be disagreement amongst the masses. There will always be multiple perceptions of our country and the best manner in which to run it. But such hate and animosity towards a person must cease!
Yet, it begs the question: is it masked bigotry? First he was elitist. A kid raised by a single mother with less than most, found a way into Harvard and now runs for President. Elitism doesn’t wash just because you’ve made a good life out of so little. Rags-to-riches: is that not the definition of “The American Dream"? Then, he was a terrorist; just being in a room with one who dissents defiantly doesn’t make you a leader in that person’s movement…that’s a long stretch. It should be said, it was the 60’s and a completely different world. It should also be known that Ayres is doing great things in the public education sector, presently. People change…have you not? Then, he was a Muslim. There is nothing wrong with the religion of Islam. It is NOT synonymous with terrorism. Historically, people have committed heinous acts in the name of Christianity and misrepresented it with drastic consequences (e.g. The Inquisition, The Crusades, and Spanish raping of S. American natives). That very misfortune is now consuming Islam. This statement about Islam is absolute; but more importantly, HE IS NOT MUSLIM! He does NOT have strong ties to Islam. He met his father, who was Muslim, ONCE. Before, after, and since, he has been raised by white christians: HE IS A CHRISTIAN!!! And yet, even that doesn’t help allay fears of white christians. FEAR FEAR FEAR. So what can one conclude? Is it racism? Is it xenophobia? Is there such a problem with a black man who has a stranger name than you become our leader? His vision is clear and inspirational; his patience and composure are unparalleled; his intuition has been spot on. This is NOT a problem for me…it’s a necessity!
And now someone desperately grabbing for anything, tries to claim that Obama is going to take away your “hard earned money” to dine in profligacy. In all your t.v. consumption, have you not heard that Barrack has clearly admitted that he is well off. He is “blessed” and does very well. The irony here is that you are condemning his plan that will in fact tax HIM and his family more so that YOU (yes, YOU) can get a break on taxes. You are against taking HIS “hard earned money” because you’ve blinded yourself with other’s thoughts. It’s absurd! It’s NEW YORK CITY!!! Do you know what pack o’ peanuts costs at the Waldorf-Astoria??? It’s more than a tank a gas. Would you want the public sector to determine how YOU spent YOUR money? Why are there so many quick to judge how HE spends HIS money???
I have no problem with Republicans in general; however, what has happened in the last 8 years and what is being slop-fed to the masses of misinformed presently is in no way Republican. Republicans are, by definition and historically, fiscally conservative; yet, rampant spending to propagate an agenda that was delivered with deception has been your representative for 8 years. Republicans are small government, yet big brother–that is big government–has never been more invasive to American lives than throughout the last 2 terms. Have you all so ferociously embraced your party, that you’ve forgotten what it represented? More importantly, have you forgotten WHY you believed in that party? There is so much hate in your camp, I am perplexed that more of it is not directed at the indicted felons, the convicted criminals, and the ever-evasive juggernauts that have distorted, dissolved, and destroyed what your honorable party once stood for. Have you not wondered, “Where did Lincoln go?”
No, I have no problem with Republicans; however, i DO have a problem with those currently representing the Republican party. So many Republicans are very intelligent; HOW have “they” so easily brainwashed you??? I beg you, step outside of your party and take a look at what matters.
Please note that this is my opinion. It is educated, unlabeled, and objective. I do not care to receive emails with such crap for fodder to propel mistruths. I read many different sources for my information…even on your side of politics. I don’t wish to receive any fashioned evangelism nor creatively deceptive propaganda. I ask you, please don’t send me any more of this.
