Catch up day
Little bits and pieces of catching up to do since I’m not posting as frequently as I would like.
Just over a week ago I officially started looking for a job closer to home and told my boss so. I’ve finally had all I can stand of the shitty commute. Friday I got another raise and an offer to take some additional training. That’s a great offer but part of my problem with my drive is that I have NO TIME at night to do anything. When would I study?!?! That’s what happened with the first course I took while working at PENTA. I took the class but wasn’t ready to take the test right away. I got too busy and stopped studying and well guess what happened? Nothing. So when I’m finally getting a good routine going at night that includes less computer time and more exercise time, am I ready to throw in studying again? I just don’t know.
I’ve only applied for one job so far, nothing else going on with the job search.
The boy’s job is going along, here it is November and so far we are surviving. His last days at home we went out for lunch at Olive Garden, then drove to Godfrey to the corn maze. Then we came back home and went to the Haunted Trail about 10 mins from out house. THAT was a blast and he laughed and laughed over my screaming. We will definitely be going back next year. A week or two before that, I took a day off and we rode to Carlinville so he could show me where he had been working. We ended up on some pretty dodgy country roads but all in all it was a great ride.
Thanksgiving plans are up in the air. Misty and I want to go to the Smoky Mountains for the weekend to drive the Cherohala Skyway but don’t know if I have a critter sitter or if she can get off work. If Matt is home he will go with us. We were invited to Chicago but I don’t really want to do that.
I’m still working in fits and spurts on our family tree and am making decent headway on dad’s side of the family. Last month we went to cousin Barb’s for a get together with Dean and his wife again. We shared even more Smith/Perry photos and managed to identify some of the unknown faces.
Today I managed to finish the deep clean of the crab tank, finish sewing mom’s pillows, finish reinstalling my programs (upgraded to Win 7 64bit yesterday!), sorted my Project365 (updated photos to be published after this post), get photos uploaded and ordered from Walgreen’s, order a gift for Tina for Christmas, scan a few pics, run to PetSmart and have lunch out with Misty. OH and wash ALL my laundry. w00t! ![]()
