I’m half way though the final book of the Dark Tower series and I had to leave you a message. I’ve been a fan since I was in high school, mid 80’s. I’ve never read any of the girlie stuff, Danielle Steel or the like. When I found out the final books were being released, I got out the first four and read them all again.


The death of Eddie and Jake was really difficult to read. I actually found myself with tears in my eyes. I can’t believe that these characters feel so real to me. That is what this series has done to me though. I feel like I know them and they are real people. The grief of the remaining members of the ka-tet was so real and so moving. I wish they could all live, but that would not be true to the story. This was never meant to be a fairy tale story with a happy ending. To end it that way would be a cop out. Maybe that is what makes this story and its characters so real, in real life there is no happy ending.


I love the series, am thrilled its finished and hope to finish the remainder of the book this week.
