Facebook Gurus I need some help!

Our agency has a Facebook Fan page. The admin of the fan page tried to connect the new YouTube account to Facebook and something is wonky. Instead of linking to the fan page, it created a new facebook account for the Admin. Previously when she would log in to FB it would take her right to the agency page. Now it takes her to the blank profile that was created. We need to remove this profile so that its just the fan page again. How do we do that?

Kevin IanI found this blog post while scanning for ArtFire mentions, and even though it isn't really about ArtFire, I'd be glad to offer a little insight.

While it is possible to make a Facebook fan page without any profile attached, a lot of the interaction and usability of Facebook is limited to profiles, not pages. It really is best to keep at least a very limited professional profile "attached" to the business page.

Try book marking the managment panel for facebook pages:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/manage

From there you can manage all pages associated with the account, or if you only have one, it will automatically give you all the editing options for the page when you go there.

One of the main reasons you'll want to have a profile set up on the same account as your business page, is only profiles are allowed to set usernames for pages(it seems counter-intuitive). Once the page has 25 fans, you'll be able to set a username for it at http://www.facebook.com/username (careful not to set it for the profile though, near the bottom of this page you'll see a "set a username for pages" area and that is what you need to click) but you'll have to have a profile attached to the acocunt to see that.

I hope that helps. I know this had nothing much to do about ArtFire, but I work with Facebook quite a bit so I thought I'd share what I could.

Have a great day, an thanks for being a part of the ArtFire community ;)
