My elderly guinea pig Tess passed away today. I am happy we had a little bit of lap time yesterday so I could say goodbye. I knew it was coming…she was noticeably fading this past week. I doubt Lila and Mocha will miss her as much as the boy and I will.

We had several years with her after I adopted her from Petco in late 2007. She was pregnant for the third time (I didn’t know that at the time) and her family returned her to the store after their kids grew bored. She was such a fat little thing I named her Tess…as in Two Ton Tess. She grew so wide as her pregnancy progressed that she couldn’t fit through the door of her igloo, she had to sort of wiggle under it.
