logmein fix for my display issue
Running XP Pro SP3 with dual monitors. In recent months, when I would remote in to my home PC the display would become distorted, then the PC would freeze up and I would have to do a hard reboot when I got home. Previously, LogMeIn free worked without any sort of issue at all.
The fix below resolved the issue for me.
This past weekend I upgraded my home PC to Windows 7 Full. I ran a standard install of LogMeIn Free and so far there is no issue BUT my graphics card is not supported by Win 7 so it’s just running in generic mode. Will have to buy a new card and see if the problem returns.
You should try an uninstall, reboot and reinstall without the mirror driver per the following:
There are a few reasons you may want to reinstall LogMeIn. If you run into an error that keeps reappearing, or you wish to move the computer to a different account, you would need to reinstall LogMeIn. You first need to uninstall LogMeIn, and there are two different ways to do this.
If you encountered an error of any kind, please perform the manual uninstall, referenced below.
Standard uninstall method
The normal uninstall method is as follows:
1. Go to Start > Control Panel
2. Click on either of the following
Windows Vista: Program and Features
XP or 2000:
Add/Remove Programs
3. Scroll down to LogMeIn, and select either Change/Remove
4. Restart the computer
A reboot is recommended, but not required, to finish the uninstall with this method. After performing these steps, reboot and continue with the reinstall.
Manual uninstall method
If you need to perform a manual uninstall, please follow the link below:

To reinstall the software
Some hardware may have conflicts with the driver LogMeIn employs to display optimized remote screen video. You can install LogMeIn without the Display Accelerator, and use the default screen display, which is just as fast over high-speed connections. To do so:
1. Please download the manual install file located at the bottom of this document.
2. Next, create a folder in the C:\ drive called LMI. Then open the LogMeIn.zip file and extract it to the LMI folder.
3. Next, go to Start, then Run, and type cmd and click OK.
4. To find your system type, Right click on the My Computer icon, and choose properties:
* If the local operating system is 32-bit, then at the command prompt, type:
1. cd C:\lmi\x86 (hit enter)
2. logmein install -nomirrordrv (hit enter)
* If the local operating system is 64-bit, then at the command prompt, type:
1. cd C:\lmi\x64 (hit enter)
2. logmein install -nomirrordrv (hit enter)
5. You will then receive a message that the install was successful. Close the command prompt window and click “Open LogMeIn” on the message that appears, and follow the steps to assign the computer to your LogMeIn account.
