Over two years ago I had a customer with a connection problem. Their nic card said media state disconnected no matter what I did I could not resolve this and get her back online. HP couldn’t figure it out either. I had to give up because I couldn’t justify charging her to continue plugging away with no clue what was going on. She called me back last week to ask me another question and told me after talking to about 6 more people after me she finally found the problem. It turned out to be a conflict between her older version of Norton and her DSL modem. How nuts is that? HP even replaced her motherboard!
