Morse Mill Hotel Ghost Hunt
Saturday night was our ghost hunt at the Morse Mill Hotel, a gift for Misty’s birthday. We left at 5:30pm hoping to get there early but instead we got there exactly on time! Google maps told us to go north where we should have gone south and we went 10 minutes north before we realized something was wrong. GPS couldn’t even find the tiny town of Morse Mill so I had to use my Droid GPS to get us there.
We arrived right at 8PM to a wooded area north of Hillsboro MO. There was a bonfire burning to warm up by as it was going to be 40F overnight. No bathrooms in the hotel so we would have to drive 4 miles down Hwy B to the nearest all night gas station. We got checked in, 22 people signed up plus the 2 guides. We were told the hotel was ‘VERY ACTIVE’ already, apparently two different couples heard someone running on the stairs. The hotel is near a heavily traveled highway so there was a lot or noise and light.
We were instructed to enter the hotel via the basement door and gather there so we could do a walk through together. The basement and 1st floor are supposed to be the most active according to the hotel website. As we walked through the numerous rooms, I was fine. Then we got to the second floor, near the attic entrance and I started getting super freaked out, almost panicked but I had no idea why.
We visited the attic next and then we began to break off into our groups to explore alone. We chose the 1st floor and by this time I was feeling normal again. We started in the kitchen but quickly moved to the piano room where another couple was sitting. There were toys and alphabet magnets in there and one lady was hoping to get a message in the letters from a spirit. Never happened.
We spent the night video taping and recording, trying to get anything remotely ghostly going on but failed miserably. Unless you count the feeling of something crawling on your hand (Misty experienced that repeatedly in the blue room) or something brushing your forehead (me in the blue room). We spent a lot of time sitting in the blue room at the bottom of the attic stairs. For some reason I was hesitant to visit the rooms at the other end of that hall. Late in the night some of the other hunters, ok mainly two, were getting a little crazy so we just sat in the dark listening and laughing.
I haven’t gone through the audio or video yet but here are the pics I quickly took just before we left at 4am.
