No more house cleaning before bed

I’ve always had a problem with not being able to fall asleep. It used to take me 2 or 3 hours sometimes to fall asleep. I can be so tired that I can barely keep my eyes open but as soon as I turn off the light and lay down, I’m wide awake. I used to lie awake tossing and turning, getting more and more pissed off as the minutes ticked by. Now when I feel the struggle beginning, I get up and go sit in the rocking chair for a little bit and listen to some music. When I started Transcendtal Meditation that 2-3 hours dropped down to an hour and often less. I still have bad nights now and then but melatonin has been helping. I also make sure I don’t drink caffeine after 7pm (I go to sleep between 9-10pm).

The past two nights have been rough. That’s the only thing different the past two nights. Yes the pollen count has been miserably high all week and I’ve been battling that but Wednesday night it wasn’t bad at all. Wednesday night I was still wide awake at 10:30pm and watching TV, way past my normal bed time. Last night I turned out the light at 10pm but was still awake at quarter after midnight, so I gave in and took a melatonin. Bad idea considering I had to get up at 5:30 AM :sleep::sleep::sleep: Clearly doing frantic housecleaning for two plus hours before bedtime is a BAD IDEA.

I did manage to drag my ass out of bed though. Helping the boy clean the pig cage seemed to get me going a little but by the time I got in the car (late) I was zonked again. Finally at work but I am dead tired. Luckily its a half day cuz I’m picking up my oldest at the airport!! :cheer:

MannyNice post!thumbsup I also have some kind of insomnia, but with time it went away. But i'm still wondering why did you do your house cleaning?
