Do you know anyone who has had a vacuum cleaner that has last 16 years? My Electrolux is at 16 years and counting. I paid about $800.00 for it when I bought it new and it came with a case of bags. I know I used all of those but I still can’t tell you the last time I bought bags. I must have purchased another case. Anyway to date I have paid about $100 for repairs which included new bearings and loose wire. I thought this last time it had finally died even though it shows NO signs of being worn out. It still cleans great and there is no loss of suction. Thing is it really is intended for carpets and we no longer have carpet. I like the upholstery attachment and the hose for cleaning up cat hair in the basement. It’s a bit heavy but that is just a sign of it’s generation. I’m still angling for the more user friendly PURPLE Dirt Devil
