Sunday evening we met up with our step sister Tina, her husband David and their 5 year old twins Adian and Avery in Fairview Heights to have dinner. They were driving in from Wyoming with a stop over in Kansas City. We arrived at Lota Watta to discover there was an hour and 45 minute wait for a table!!
Screw that! It was hot as hell and that was just straight up stupid. We ended up going to Red Robin which is just as good AND Avery found a $20 bill stuck down in the seat of our booth. The boys decided that Matt’s sideburns make him look like Wolverine, who is there favorite super hero.
After we arrived at Misty’s house, we all went to the park to let the boys play. I managed to fall on my ass in the driveway.
Sloped gravel driveway plus smooth soled flipflops equals disaster.
I don’t know how I managed to not hurt something but that’s a good thing.
The boys played until David was ready to go back to the house. On our way back we realized the back lot at Misty’s was full of lightening bugs. We had a blast catching them and putting them in a jar. Aiden even found a little teeny frog and brought it in with the lightening bugs. Matt and Avery accidentally squashed a few in the excitement.
We watched Kung Fu panda and called dad to wish him a Happy Father’s day. They kept the fireflies over night and released them in the a.m. The frog was placed in the Toad House in Misty’s flower garden.
Pics aren’t great cuz all I had was my Blackberry and it was getting dark. Will post about our day at the zoo a little later.
