A Rose


With a warm kiss from the sun
Caressing the soft, velvet red petals
Petals drenched in sweet morning dew
Golden beams glide gently
Over it’s subtle curves
So tightly closed against the cold world
Tender petals protect the vulnerable center
Only a tender loving touch
Will coax the flower open
With patience it slowly opens to you
Revealing all the wonders of love and life
Get lost in it’s beauty and softness
The heady fragrance intoxicates you
Tenderness and love will bring you in
Here you will find all you desire
So come and be my sun
And I will be your rose
Love me with tenderness and warmth
And I will open to you
All the pleasures of life
