Wednesday is normally a good day for me
I left the house on time this morning, with my breakfast in hand. I found these super thin round multi grain buns at Sam’s and can easily make my own lower calorie breakfast sandwiches now. I stopped to get a coffee at McDonald’s but no coffee because of the boil order. I was under the impression you had to boil water to make coffee but whatever, I simply headed to Starbucks instead.
As I got to the bridge I realized I need to gas up. Traffic was ugly and I didn’t want to risk running out while ON the Poplar street bridge so I got off in East St Louis to fill up. Put my card in the ump and it stuck on ‘authorizing’. After 2 or 3 minutes I gave up and moved to a different pump. Starting to get annoyed now because I am behind schedule. Today was my last day at the off site event and all the laptops and the projector are in my car. I get back on the interstate and the bridge is just a massive cluster fuck. This is why I stay off the Poplar Street bridge and use the MLK (course MoDot? fucked that up last month). Finally get across the river and I run into 4 different random lane blockages. Getting really aggravated now.
I finally arrive and park in the free lot so I don’t have to feed the meter. It means walking farther while carrying 4 full size laptops, my mini laptop and a projector but that’s not such a huge deal.
I get upstairs and find the pretty much everyone had traffic issues so no one is actually delayed because of me. I get everything set up and then think I’m going to get online and get some emails handled. WRONG. The internet is down at this location. Grrr
My phone locks up two different times while I’m there and has to be rebooted. The battery is nearly drained by this point. We muddle through without internet though and everyone makes their presentations and I pack up all the gear and head back to my car.
I walk up to my car and see that some asshole in a white dodge ram parked so shittily that I can’t get in my driver’s side door. I was going to smash my door into his (what do I car my car is OLD as shit) but he has those rubber trim protectors. I end up getting in the passenger side and climbing across to the driver’s seat. Its a good thing I’m short as hell. As luck would have it I had about ¼ cup left over Starbucks mocha. Soooo I rolled down my window and flung it all over the truck. Merry Christmas FUCKER. Learn to park!
Finally on my way back to the office to unload all my gear and set my monitor up. (The boy helped me clean it up at home last night so no need to buy a new one!! *wub*) I notice that I gas is 30 cents cheaper here than what I paid this morning. That is such bullshit. Illinois taxes are re-goddamn-diculous!!
I planned to meditate in my car before lunch since I didn’t this morning. So did manage to do that and that helped calm my ruffled feathers. The afternoon was much better. One of the guys we support, ‘C’, decided to visit some houses with me and wanted to hold my hand while we talked. He’s a really handsome sweet guy and his company was just what I needed to cheer me up.
I came home to a nice dinner courtesy of my darling boy. My back is a bit sore from lugging all that gear around. I finished the earrings for my sister, copied the journal I wanted to recreate and only turned on my laptop long enough to make this post.
