What an amazing weekend!
Monday Morning: We are sitting in the airport in Kalispell with Brett waiting for our flight. Eileen and Renny left about 30 minutes ago. The weather was great all weekend but this morning it was much cooler and a storm moved in as we were driving to the airport. It’s still a overcast but the storm moved through and our flights are on time.
The wedding took place just on the other side of the Continental Divide at Logan’s Pass at a point overlooking Goose Lake. It was a breathtaking drive up there and not just because of Scott’s driving.
The ceremony was brief but very sweet and it was so great to be there with the entire family. We drove to Cafe Kandahar for a late dinner of fancy eclectic local foods. It was a fun experience.
On Saturday Renny took us whitewater rafting which was a blast! Mike and Jess have been before but none of the rest of us. The Middle Fork of the Flathead river is where we were and two movies were filmed there including The River Wild (Kevin Bacon) Our pictures from the trip are not on the site yet but should be soon. The rafting trip was one of the services offered at the lodge where we stayed, Great Northern Resort.
Tuesday Morning:
Wow yesterday was a long day! We didn’t arrive home until 11pm and I think we were in bed by midnight. Needless to say, my ass is dragging this morning! The flights home were good. Matt and I had so much fun together, enjoying lots of ‘firsts’ on this trip. I couldn’t ask for a better guy to travel with, he’s really fantastically patient, kind and loving. His poison ivy was/is still very itchy but he didn’t let it slow him down one bit. He even tolerated a few photos here and there. ;) The weekend was not without it’s problems and issues but we weathered them together.
If you had told me a year ago that we would be taking this weekend getaway together and be more in love than ever before, I wouldn’t have believed you. Yet here we are. ![]()
We have several HUNDRED pics already between my camera and Brett’s. I still have to get pics from Eileen, Jess and Scott. Once we have an album up for viewing I’ll post a link. When the rafting photos are online I will come back and update. Now back to work… ![]()
